Littering or Roadside Dumping

It is unlawful to “throw, deposit, place, or dump…upon any street or highway or upon any public or privately owned land without the owner’s consent…”

 

 Littering or dumping trash, furniture, electronics, animal carcasses, grass or brush clippings, construction materials, etc. along roadsides is prohibited. Violations are misdemeanors and punishable by fines of up to $700 or 90 days in jail, or both.

 

If you discover dumped trash, dropped deer carcasses or other roadway obstructions please call City Hall, 651-436-5090, during business hours, or call the Sheriff’s Non-Emergency line.

 

Residents are asked to be observant of suspicious vehicles and activity. If you witness roadside dumping, note the vehicle description, license plate number and dumping location and call the Sheriff's Non-Emergency line: 651-439-9381 immediately.
